Refund Policy
How to get a refund — and why Apple, not us, owns the process.
Last updated 2026-04-29
The short version
If you subscribed to Stash2Self Pro through the App Store and want a refund, you request it from Apple, not from us. Apple has a 14-day refund window in most regions; some countries (notably the EU) have stricter consumer-protection rules that override Apple's policy in your favor.
For the rare case where Apple denies a refund you feel you deserve, email support@stash2self.com — we can sometimes grant a goodwill credit on our side.
Why Apple owns the refund flow
iOS subscriptions go through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple charges your payment method, takes their commission, and pays us the rest. We don't process your payment or hold your money — we just receive an event from Apple's servers saying "this user is a paying subscriber" or "this user just got refunded; revoke access."
This means refunds aren't ours to process. Apple controls the money flow.
How to request an Apple refund
The fastest path
Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the Stash2Self charge, and request a refund. Apple typically replies within 48 hours — most legitimate refund requests are approved automatically.
From your iPhone or iPad
- Settings → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → Stash2Self → cancel and request refund
- OR: Settings → tap your name at the top → Media & Purchases → View Account → Purchase History → find the charge → Report a Problem
From a Mac
- App Store → click your name in the bottom-left → Account Information → Manage (next to Purchase History) → find the charge → Report a Problem
Apple's standard refund window
Apple's general policy is to consider refunds for purchases within 14 days, no questions asked, in most regions. Older charges may still be eligible if you can articulate a reason (accidental purchase, didn't realize it was a recurring subscription, the service didn't work as advertised, etc.).
Some jurisdictions have stronger consumer protections that supersede Apple's standard window:
- European Union: 14-day right of withdrawal under EU consumer law.
- United Kingdom: similar 14-day cooling-off period.
- Australia: Consumer Law remedies for goods/services not "fit for purpose."
- Other regions: consult your local consumer-protection authority.
Cancelling vs refunding
These are different actions:
- Cancel = stop future charges. You keep Pro access until the end of the current billing period, then revert to Free tier. Your bookmarks stay; you just can't add new ones if you're over 20.
- Refund = get your money back for the most recent charge. Pro access ends immediately when the refund is processed.
You can cancel without refunding, refund without cancelling (rare), or both. Most users who want out simply cancel.
What we can do
If Apple denies a refund you genuinely deserve — say, the service was broken for an extended period and you couldn't use what you paid for — we can sometimes offer:
- A goodwill credit (free Pro time on top of what you've paid)
- An extended free-tier ceiling (if you'd rather have more bookmark capacity than free Pro time)
- An extended cancellation that keeps Pro features through a longer period
Email support@stash2self.com with the dates and the issue. We're a small team; we read every message.
What we can't do
- Process a refund directly. Apple owns the money flow; we have no payment-processing tools.
- Override Apple's refund decision. If Apple says no, we can offer the alternatives above but can't make Apple change their mind.
- Refund a partial month. Apple's billing is monthly; partial-month refunds are not a granular control they expose to us.
Future: web-direct subscriptions
When we eventually launch direct web subscriptions (via Stripe or Paddle for users without iOS / Android devices), our refund posture will be similar: 14-day no-questions-asked window for the most recent charge, processed within 5 business days. We'll update this page when that goes live.
